PREZ RACE

Quite the perplexing story was told to me by a good friend in Minnesota...

As many people may know, 2008 is the year of the presidential campaign. It's the time in history where political support signs pop up on lawns, debates rage across the nation, and above all, when Americans are forced to recall those long forgotten core values such as freedom, liberty, honesty,and equality. Therefore it's ironic to see that political groups are taking drastic measures to spite the opposing party and portray their opponents in the worst light possible. Politicians are crying, "Taxes! Better laws! Improvement of the nation!" but in order to get to that presidential throne, both democrats and republicans are playing dirty.

My Minnesotan friend, (we'll call her Becky) is the biggest Democrat ever. She sells OBAMA shirts/buttons, attends rallies, and of course, has an OBAMA sign on her front lawn. Becky's worst enemy is her neighbor across the street--they're staunch McCain fanatics. Instead of having the usual small McCain sign on their lawn, they have a HUGE whiteboard-sized sign.

One day, she woke up to find that her OBAMA sign was missing. Everywhere she looked, she couldn't find it. She so bought another sign, and stuck it in the same place as before. Two days later, AGAIN, it went missing! A third sign, and AGAIN, it went missing. She was determined to get rid of this mysterious sign-stealer.

Becky stuck her fourth sign in, early Saturday morning, then hid behind a bush to wait. Four hours passed with no one so much as walking their dog down her street. By 3:00pm, Becky gave up and went inside to take a cooling shower. (Keep in mind that the bathroom has a large window overlooking her lawn with the OBAMA sign) As she stepped out of the shower stall rejuvinated, Becky turned toward the window to see her front door neighbor frantically trying to pull her OBAMA sign out! But what could she do, wet and naked? Revege was in the makings.

Late the next night, Becky crept onto her front neighbor's lawn...
Origionally, the sign had read, McCAIN. But after covering the first three letters, "McC" with neon colored letter cutouts, "INS," the sign read, "INSAIN." Below that, Becky wrote in smaller letters, "I want my OBAMA signs back."

That's political retribution for you! I don't think Becky's neighbor ever tried to steal her OBAMA sign ever again.
